Sombrio Beach is a popular destination for hikers, day trippers and those wanting to try their hand surfing this world class surfing spot.
The cobbled beach is an easy 10 minute hike down the trail from the parking lot and visitors can make use of two designated camping areas.
When the swell is in Sombrio is a MUST for surfing. The local surfers are also known for being friendly and welcoming, even offering a cup of coffee to warm you up after your session. Sombrio is definitely worth the drive up from Victoria…just don’t forget your wetsuit!
